1and1 mail servers imap
1&1 Ionos (formerly 1&1 Mail & Media) provides IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) access to their email accounts. Here's how to set up IMAP on your device:
IMAP Settings:
- Server: imap.1and1.com
- Port: 993 (SSL/TLS) or 143 (unencrypted)
- Username: Your 1&1 Ionos email address (e.g., [yourname]@yourdomain.com)
- Password: Your 1&1 Ionos email password
IMAP Settings for Popular Email Clients:
- Microsoft Outlook:
- Go to File > Account Settings > Manage Profiles > Show Profiles.
- Click "Add" and select "Manual setup or additional server types."
- Choose "Internet E-mail" and click "Next."
- Enter your IMAP settings above and click "Next."
- Finish the setup process.
- Mozilla Thunderbird:
- Go to Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings.
- Select "IMAP" and enter your IMAP settings above.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
- Apple Mail (macOS):
- Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts.
- Select your 1&1 Ionos email account and click the "Advanced" tab.
- Select "IMAP" and enter your IMAP settings above.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
- Android Devices:
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Add account > Other.
- Select "IMAP" and enter your IMAP settings above.
- Click "Next" and follow the prompts to complete the setup process.
- iOS Devices:
- Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account.
- Select "Other" and enter your IMAP settings above.
- Click "Next" and follow the prompts to complete the setup process.
Important Notes:
- Make sure to enable IMAP access in your 1&1 Ionos email account settings. You can do this by logging into your 1&1 Ionos account, going to the "Email" section, and clicking on "Settings" next to your email account. Then, scroll down to the "Advanced" section and toggle the "IMAP" switch to "On."
- If you're using a third-party email client, you may need to configure additional settings, such as SSL/TLS encryption or authentication methods.
- 1&1 Ionos recommends using the SSL/TLS encryption (port 993) for IMAP connections to ensure secure communication.
