Account name in microsoft mail
In Microsoft Mail (Outlook), an account name is also known as a "profile" or "identity". It's a unique name that identifies a specific email account or set of accounts that you use to access your email, calendar, contacts, and other data.
Here's how to view and manage your account names in Microsoft Mail:
Viewing account names:
- Open Microsoft Mail (Outlook) on your device.
- Click on the "File" menu and select "Account Settings" (or "Manage Accounts" in Outlook 2016 and later).
- In the "Account Settings" window, you'll see a list of your account names (profiles) on the left side of the window.
Creating a new account name:
- Follow the same steps as above to open the "Account Settings" window.
- Click on "Add Account" (or "New Profile" in Outlook 2016 and later).
- Enter a name for your new account (profile) and click "OK".
Managing account names:
- To switch between account names, click on the "File" menu and select "Switch Account" (or "Switch Profile" in Outlook 2016 and later).
- To remove an account name, select it in the "Account Settings" window and click "Remove" (or "Delete" in Outlook 2016 and later).
Tips:
- You can have multiple account names (profiles) in Microsoft Mail, each with its own set of email accounts, calendars, and contacts.
- Each account name can have its own settings, such as different email addresses, passwords, and account types (e.g., Exchange, IMAP, POP).
- If you have multiple account names, you can switch between them easily by selecting the desired account name in the "File" menu.
