Add hotmail to mac mail account already exists

To add a Hotmail account to your existing Mac Mail account, you'll need to follow these steps:

Method 1: Add Hotmail account using IMAP

  1. Open Mail on your Mac.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences".
  3. Click on the "Accounts" tab.
  4. Click the "+" button at the bottom left corner of the window.
  5. Select "Other Mail Account" and click "Continue".
  6. Enter your Hotmail email address and password.
  7. Select "IMAP" as the account type.
  8. Enter the following settings:
    • Incoming Mail Server: imap-mail.outlook.com
    • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp-mail.outlook.com
    • User Name: your Hotmail email address
    • Password: your Hotmail password
  9. Click "Create" to add the account.

Method 2: Add Hotmail account using POP

  1. Open Mail on your Mac.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences".
  3. Click on the "Accounts" tab.
  4. Click the "+" button at the bottom left corner of the window.
  5. Select "Other Mail Account" and click "Continue".
  6. Enter your Hotmail email address and password.
  7. Select "POP" as the account type.
  8. Enter the following settings:
    • Incoming Mail Server: pop-mail.outlook.com
    • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): smtp-mail.outlook.com
    • User Name: your Hotmail email address
    • Password: your Hotmail password
  9. Click "Create" to add the account.

Note: If you're using Method 2 (POP), you may need to configure your Hotmail account to allow POP access. You can do this by logging into your Hotmail account, clicking on your profile picture, and selecting "View account settings". Then, click on "More mail settings" and select "POP and IMAP" from the left menu. Make sure the "Enable POP" option is selected.

Once you've added your Hotmail account, you should be able to access your Hotmail emails from within the Mac Mail app.
