Add hotmail to mail app

To add Hotmail to the Mail app on your Windows 10 device, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Mail app: You can find the Mail app on your Start menu or in the All apps list.
  2. Click on the "Accounts" button: It's located in the top right corner of the Mail app window.
  3. Click on "Add account": This will open a new window where you can add a new email account.
  4. Select "Other account": Choose "Other account" from the list of options.
  5. Enter your Hotmail email address and password: Enter your Hotmail email address and password in the respective fields.
  6. Click "Next": Click the "Next" button to proceed.
  7. Choose your account type: You'll be asked to choose whether you want to use IMAP or POP3 to access your Hotmail account. For most users, IMAP is the recommended option.
  8. Enter your account settings: You'll need to enter your Hotmail account settings, including your incoming and outgoing mail servers. The settings are as follows:
    • Incoming mail server: imap-mail.outlook.com
    • Outgoing mail server: smtp-mail.outlook.com
    • Port: 993 (for incoming) and 587 (for outgoing)
    • Authentication: Use the same username and password you entered earlier
  9. Click "Finish": Once you've entered your account settings, click the "Finish" button to complete the setup process.

Your Hotmail account should now be added to the Mail app, and you should be able to access your email, contacts, and calendar from within the app.

Note: If you're having trouble setting up your Hotmail account in the Mail app, you can try using the Outlook app instead. The Outlook app is a more comprehensive email client that supports multiple email accounts, including Hotmail.
