Add unread mail folder
To add an "Unread Mail" folder in Gmail, you can follow these steps:
Method 1: Using Gmail Web Interface
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon () in the upper right corner of the page.
- Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
- Click on the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.
- Click on the "Create a new filter" button.
- In the "From" field, enter
is:unread
. - Click on the "Create filter" button.
- In the "Apply the label" dropdown menu, select "New label" and enter "Unread Mail".
- Click on the "Create" button.
Method 2: Using Gmail Mobile App
- Open the Gmail app on your mobile device.
- Tap on the three horizontal lines () in the top left corner of the screen.
- Tap on "Settings" from the menu.
- Scroll down to the "Filters" section.
- Tap on "Create a new filter".
- In the "From" field, enter
is:unread
. - Tap on the "Create" button.
- In the "Apply the label" dropdown menu, select "New label" and enter "Unread Mail".
- Tap on the "Create" button.
Once you've created the "Unread Mail" folder, you can access it by clicking on the label in your Gmail inbox or by searching for label:unread mail
in the search bar.
Note: If you're using Gmail's "Inbox" feature, you may not need to create a separate "Unread Mail" folder, as the "Inbox" folder will automatically show you unread emails.
