- If the automatic configuration fails, you can manually configure your account by selecting "Manual Setup" and entering the following settings:
- Server: imap.btinternet.com (for IMAP) or pop.btinternet.com (for POP3)
- User Name: your BT Internet email address
- Password: your BT Internet email password
- Authentication: Password
- Click "Continue" to save your changes.
- Mac Mail will now attempt to connect to your BT Internet email account. If successful, you'll see your email inbox and can start sending and receiving emails.
Tips:
- Make sure you have the correct email address and password for your BT Internet account.
- If you're using IMAP, you may need to set up your email client to leave a copy of your emails on the server. To do this, go to "Mail" > "Preferences" > "Accounts" > "Advanced" and select "Leave a copy of messages on the server".
- If you're having trouble connecting to your BT Internet email account, try restarting Mac Mail or checking the BT Internet website for any known issues.
