Adding colour to text background in apple mail

A simple yet useful question!

To add color to the text background in Apple Mail, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open Apple Mail and compose a new email or open an existing one.
  2. Select the text you want to add a colored background to by dragging your cursor over it.
  3. Go to the "Format" menu at the top of the screen and select "Font" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + T).
  4. In the "Font" window, click on the "Background" tab.
  5. Click on the "Color" dropdown menu and select a color from the palette or enter a custom color using the RGB or HEX code.
  6. You can also adjust the transparency of the background color by moving the "Opacity" slider.
  7. Click "OK" to apply the changes.

Alternatively, you can also use the "Format" menu and select "Text" > "Background" > "Color" to achieve the same result.

Note that this will only change the background color of the selected text, not the entire email body. If you want to change the background color of the entire email, you'll need to use a different method, such as using a HTML email template or adding a CSS style to the email body.
