Adding g suite email to mail app apple
To add a G Suite email account to the Mail app on Apple devices, follow these steps:
For iPhone/iPad:
- Open the Settings app on your device.
- Tap on "Accounts" (or "iCloud" on older devices).
- Tap on "Add Account".
- Select "Other" (or "Other Mail Account" on older devices).
- Enter your G Suite email address and password.
- Tap "Next" and then "Save".
- You will be prompted to enter the incoming and outgoing mail server settings. Use the following settings:
- Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com
- Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
- Username: Your G Suite email address
- Password: Your G Suite password
- Tap "Next" and then "Save".
For Mac:
- Open the Mail app on your Mac.
- Go to "Mail" > "Preferences" > "Accounts".
- Click on the "+" button at the bottom left corner of the window.
- Select "Other Mail Account" from the dropdown menu.
- Enter your G Suite email address and password.
- Click "Continue" and then "Create".
- You will be prompted to enter the incoming and outgoing mail server settings. Use the following settings:
- Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com
- Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
- Username: Your G Suite email address
- Password: Your G Suite password
- Click "Create" to save the account.
Additional Settings:
- Make sure that IMAP is enabled in your G Suite account settings. To do this, go to the G Suite Admin Console, navigate to "Users" > "User settings" > "Advanced settings" > "IMAP" and toggle the switch to "On".
- If you're using two-factor authentication (2FA) with your G Suite account, you may need to generate an App Password and use it instead of your regular password.
- You may need to configure the Mail app to use SSL/TLS encryption. To do this, go to "Mail" > "Preferences" > "Accounts" > "Advanced" and select "Use SSL" or "Use TLS" for the incoming and outgoing mail servers.
After setting up your G Suite email account in the Mail app, you should be able to send and receive emails using your G Suite account.
