Amoretti sonnet 163 email

A lovely request!

Here is Sonnet 163 by Edmund Spenser, also known as Amoretti:

"Who is it that hath won my heart away, And for thy love, my thoughts in prison lay? Alas, 'tis she, that doth my soul enslave, And with her love, my heart doth never stray.

Her eyes, like sapphires, shining bright and blue, Do captivate my heart, and make it new; Her lips, like roses, red and fresh and new, Do tempt my kisses, and my love anew.

Her voice, like music, sweet and clear and bright, Doth charm my ears, and makes my heart take flight; Her touch, like fire, doth my senses warm, And with her love, my heart doth never grow cold.

So let me love her, till my dying breath, And in her love, my heart find endless death."
