Angus McLeod, a successful businessman and philanthropist, passed away on October 17, 2019, at the age of 93.

Born in 1926 in Toronto, Mr. McLeod grew up in a family of modest means. He was the youngest of six children, and his parents, both immigrants from Scotland, worked hard to provide for their family. Despite the challenges they faced, Mr. McLeod's parents instilled in him a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility, values that would serve him well throughout his life.

After completing his education, Mr. McLeod began his career in the insurance industry, working his way up the ranks to become a successful entrepreneur. He founded McLeod Group, a leading insurance brokerage firm, and built it into a respected and successful business.

Throughout his career, Mr. McLeod was known for his integrity, his strong work ethic, and his commitment to his community. He was a generous philanthropist, supporting numerous charitable organizations and causes, including the United Way, the Salvation Army, and the Toronto General Hospital.

Mr. McLeod is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret; his children, David, Susan, and Peter; his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. James Cathedral in Toronto on October 26, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Way or the Salvation Army.
