The basic version of AOL (America Online) email addresses typically followed this format:

In 2015, AOL was acquired by Verizon, and in 2017, Verizon announced that it would be shutting down AOL's email service. As a result, AOL email addresses are no longer active, and users are encouraged to migrate to other email providers.
