Aol mail domains

A blast from the past!

AOL (America Online) was a popular internet service provider in the 1990s and early 2000s. As part of its service, AOL provided email addresses to its subscribers, which were typically in the format of [email protected]. These email addresses were tied to the user's AOL account and were accessible through the AOL webmail interface or through a third-party email client.

In 2015, AOL was acquired by Verizon, and in 2017, Verizon merged AOL with Yahoo! to form Oath, a subsidiary of Verizon. As a result, AOL's email service was eventually phased out, and users were encouraged to migrate to other email services, such as Yahoo! Mail or Outlook.com.

However, AOL still maintains a few legacy email domains that are still active today:

  1. aol.com: This is the original AOL email domain, which is still active but no longer accepts new sign-ups.
  2. aol.co.uk: This is the UK-based AOL email domain, which is also still active but no longer accepts new sign-ups.
  3. livedoor.com: AOL acquired LiveDooor, a Japanese email service, in 2005. The livedoor.com domain is still active and is used by some AOL users.

It's worth noting that AOL's email service is no longer supported, and users are encouraged to migrate to other email services. If you're still using an AOL email address, you may want to consider switching to a more modern email service to take advantage of newer features and better security.
