Aol mail thunderbird
A blast from the past!
To set up AOL Mail in Thunderbird, you'll need to follow these steps:
Step 1: Install the AOL IMAP Extension
- Open Thunderbird and go to Tools > Add-ons.
- Search for "AOL IMAP" and install the extension.
- Restart Thunderbird.
Step 2: Configure AOL Mail Account
- Go to Tools > Account Settings.
- Click on Add Mail Account.
- Enter your AOL Mail address and password.
- Select IMAP as the account type.
- Fill in the following settings:
- Incoming Server: imap.aol.com
- Port: 993
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Outgoing Server: smtp.aol.com
- Port: 587
- Security: STARTTLS
- Click Create Account.
Step 3: Set Up Folders
- In the Account Settings window, click on the Server Settings tab.
- Under Incoming, select Use secure authentication.
- Under Outgoing, select Use secure authentication.
- Click OK to save the changes.
Step 4: Verify Your Account
- Go to File > New > Folder.
- Name the folder (e.g., "AOL Mail").
- Right-click on the folder and select Subscribe.
- Verify that your AOL Mail account is now connected and you can access your emails.
That's it! You should now be able to access your AOL Mail account using Thunderbird.
