Aol mail thunderbird

A blast from the past!

To set up AOL Mail in Thunderbird, you'll need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Install the AOL IMAP Extension

  1. Open Thunderbird and go to Tools > Add-ons.
  2. Search for "AOL IMAP" and install the extension.
  3. Restart Thunderbird.

Step 2: Configure AOL Mail Account

  1. Go to Tools > Account Settings.
  2. Click on Add Mail Account.
  3. Enter your AOL Mail address and password.
  4. Select IMAP as the account type.
  5. Fill in the following settings:
    • Incoming Server: imap.aol.com
    • Port: 993
    • Security: SSL/TLS
    • Outgoing Server: smtp.aol.com
    • Port: 587
    • Security: STARTTLS
  6. Click Create Account.

Step 3: Set Up Folders

  1. In the Account Settings window, click on the Server Settings tab.
  2. Under Incoming, select Use secure authentication.
  3. Under Outgoing, select Use secure authentication.
  4. Click OK to save the changes.

Step 4: Verify Your Account

  1. Go to File > New > Folder.
  2. Name the folder (e.g., "AOL Mail").
  3. Right-click on the folder and select Subscribe.
  4. Verify that your AOL Mail account is now connected and you can access your emails.

That's it! You should now be able to access your AOL Mail account using Thunderbird.
