Aol.mail settings
A blast from the past! AOL Mail settings are a bit different from other email providers, but I'll guide you through the process.
AOL Mail Settings:
Incoming Mail Server:
- Server name:
imap.aol.com
- Port:

(or993
for SSL/TLS) - Username: Your AOL Mail address (e.g.,
[email protected]
) - Password: Your AOL Mail password
Outgoing Mail Server:
- Server name:
smtp.aol.com
- Port:
587
(or465
for SSL/TLS) - Username: Your AOL Mail address (e.g.,
[email protected]
) - Password: Your AOL Mail password
Additional Settings:
- Authentication: Use the same username and password for both incoming and outgoing servers.
- SSL/TLS: Enable SSL/TLS encryption for both incoming and outgoing servers.
- POP3: AOL Mail uses IMAP by default, but you can also use POP3 if you prefer. Set the POP3 server to
pop.aol.com
and the port to110
(or995
for SSL/TLS).
Configuring AOL Mail on Popular Email Clients:
Here are the settings for some popular email clients:
- Microsoft Outlook: Go to File > Account Settings > New > Manual setup or additional server types > Internet Email. Enter the above settings and click "Next" to complete the setup.
- Apple Mail: Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Add Account > Other Mail Account. Enter the above settings and click "Create" to complete the setup.
- Mozilla Thunderbird: Go to Tools > Account Settings > Outgoing Server (SMTP) > Edit. Enter the above settings and click "OK" to complete the setup.
Troubleshooting Tips:
- Make sure your AOL Mail account is set up correctly and you're using the correct login credentials.
- Check your email client's settings to ensure they match the above settings.
