Apple 7 email outgoings mail server

A very specific question!

To set up an outgoing mail server for an Apple device (e.g., iPhone, iPad, or Mac) using a Gmail account, you'll need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Enable IMAP and SMTP in your Gmail account

  1. Log in to your Gmail account.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."
  3. Go to the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab.
  4. Enable IMAP and SMTP.
  5. Save changes.

Step 2: Configure your Apple device's outgoing mail server

  1. On your Apple device, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  2. Tap on "Add Account" and select "Other" (if you don't see Gmail as an option).
  3. Tap on "Add Mail Account" and enter your Gmail address and password.
  4. Tap on "Next" and select "IMAP" as the account type.
  5. Enter the following information:
    • Host Name: smtp.gmail.com
    • User Name: your Gmail address
    • Password: your Gmail password
    • Authentication: Password
  6. Tap on "Next" and then "Save".

Step 3: Verify your outgoing mail server settings

  1. Go back to the Mail settings on your Apple device.
  2. Tap on the Gmail account you just set up.
  3. Tap on "Account" and then "Advanced".
  4. Verify that the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) is set to "smtp.gmail.com" and the Port is set to 587.

That's it! Your Apple device should now be able to send emails using your Gmail account as the outgoing mail server.
