To set up Apple Mail to work with Gmail, you'll need to follow these steps:
Step 1: Enable IMAP in your Gmail account
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner and select "See all settings."

- Select the "Enable IMAP" radio button.
- Click "Save Changes."
Step 2: Set up Apple Mail
- Open Apple Mail on your Mac or iOS device.
- Go to "Mail" > "Preferences" (on Mac) or "Settings" (on iOS).
- Click on "Accounts" and then click the "+" button to add a new account.
- Select "Other" as the account type.
- Enter your name, email address, and password.
- Set the "Account Type" to "IMAP" and enter the following settings:
- Host Name: imap.gmail.com
- User Name: your Gmail address
- Password: your Gmail password
- Port: 993
- Click "Continue" and then "Create."
- Apple Mail will verify the account settings. If everything is correct, you'll see a success message.
Step 3: Set up your Gmail account in Apple Mail
- Go back to the "Accounts" preferences pane.
- Select your Gmail account and click the "Edit" button.
- Enter the following settings:
- Incoming Mail Server: imap.gmail.com
- Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com
- User Name: your Gmail address
- Password: your Gmail password
- Port: 587 (for outgoing mail)
- Click "Save" to save the changes.
