Apple mail archive delete
A common question!
To delete an archived email in Apple Mail on a Mac:
- Open Apple Mail and navigate to the "Mailbox" menu.
- Select "Archived" from the list of mailboxes.
- Find the email you want to delete and select it.
- Right-click (or control-click) on the selected email and choose "Move to Trash" from the context menu.
- Alternatively, you can also select the email and press the "Delete" key on your keyboard.
- Confirm that you want to delete the email by clicking "Move to Trash" in the dialog box that appears.
Note: If you want to permanently delete the email, you'll need to empty the Trash mailbox. To do this:
- Go to the "Mailbox" menu and select "Trash".
- Select all the emails in the Trash mailbox by pressing Command+A.
- Right-click (or control-click) on the selected emails and choose "Empty Trash" from the context menu.
- Confirm that you want to permanently delete the emails by clicking "Empty Trash" in the dialog box that appears.
Alternatively, you can also use the keyboard shortcut Command+Shift+Delete to move an email to the Trash mailbox, and then empty the Trash mailbox as described above to permanently delete the email.
