Apple mail cancel sending email
The frustration of accidentally sending an email and wanting to cancel it! Here's how to cancel sending an email in Apple Mail:
Method 1: Cancel sending immediately
- If you've just clicked the "Send" button, you can cancel the sending process by clicking the "Cancel" button in the confirmation dialog box that appears.
- If you've already sent the email, you can't cancel it, but you can try to recall it using the "Recall" feature (see below).
Method 2: Recall an email
- Open Apple Mail and select the email you want to recall.
- Click the "Edit" menu and select "Recall" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + R).
- In the "Recall" dialog box, select the reason for recalling the email and click "Recall".
- If the recipient has already received the email, it may not be possible to recall it. However, if the email is still in transit, it may be possible to recall it.
Method 3: Use the "Undeliverable Mail" feature
- If the email was sent to an invalid email address or bounced back, you can try to recall it using the "Undeliverable Mail" feature.
- Open Apple Mail and select the email that was undeliverable.
- Click the "Mail" menu and select "Undeliverable Mail" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + U).
- In the "Undeliverable Mail" window, select the email you want to recall and click "Recall".
Important notes:
- Cancelling or recalling an email does not guarantee that the recipient will not receive it. The email may have already been received or is still in transit.
- Some email providers may not support recalling emails, so it's always a good idea to double-check with the recipient before sending an email.
- If you're using a third-party email service, such as Gmail or Outlook, the recall feature may not work as expected. In this case, you may need to contact the email service provider for assistance.
