A simple yet important question!

To change the protocol from POP to IMAP in Apple Mail, follow these steps:

For macOS High Sierra (10.13) and later:

  1. Open Apple Mail.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences".
  3. Click on the "Accounts" tab.
  4. Select the account you want to change from the list on the left.
  5. Click on the "Account Information" tab.
  6. Click on the "Server Settings" button.
  7. Under "Incoming Mail Server", select "IMAP" from the dropdown menu.
  8. Click "OK" to save the changes.

For macOS Sierra (10.12) and earlier:

  1. Open Apple Mail.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences".
  3. Click on the "Accounts" tab.
  4. Select the account you want to change from the list on the left.
  5. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
  6. Under "Incoming Mail Server", select "IMAP" from the dropdown menu.
  7. Click "OK" to save the changes.

For iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch):

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap on "Mail, Contacts, Calendars".
  3. Tap on the account you want to change from the list.
  4. Tap on "Account Info".
  5. Tap on "IMAP" under "Incoming Mail Server".
  6. Tap "Save" to save the changes.

After making these changes, your Apple Mail client will use IMAP to connect to your email server, allowing you to access your emails on multiple devices and keep them synchronized.
