Apple mail color junk mail

The frustration of dealing with junk mail in Apple Mail!

Here are some ways to help you manage and reduce junk mail in Apple Mail:

  1. Mark as Junk: Select the email you want to mark as junk, then click the "Mark" button in the toolbar and choose "Mark as Junk Mail". This will help Apple Mail's spam filter learn to recognize similar emails as junk in the future.
  2. Junk Mail Filter: Go to Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail, and select the "Filter Junk Mail" option. This will automatically move suspected junk mail to the "Junk" folder.
  3. Whitelist and Blacklist: Add senders you trust to your whitelist (allowed senders) and those you don't trust to your blacklist (blocked senders). Go to Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail, and click on the "Whitelist" or "Blacklist" tab.
  4. Customize your Junk Mail settings: Go to Mail > Preferences > Junk Mail, and adjust the settings to your liking. You can choose how aggressive the filter is, and whether to move suspected junk mail to the "Junk" folder or delete it.
  5. Use third-party plugins: There are several third-party plugins available that can help you manage junk mail in Apple Mail, such as SpamSieve or Junk Mail Filter.
  6. Report junk mail: If you receive an email that's not marked as junk but is still spam, you can report it to Apple by clicking the "Report Junk" button in the email header.
  7. Use a spam filter service: Consider using a spam filter service like SpamAssassin or SpamFilter, which can help block junk mail at the server level.

By following these steps, you should be able to reduce the amount of junk mail in your Apple Mail inbox and make your email experience more enjoyable!
