Apple mail conversation order

In Apple Mail, the conversation order refers to the way emails are organized and displayed in the inbox. By default, Apple Mail sorts conversations in a specific order, which can be customized to suit your preferences. Here's the default conversation order:

  1. Newest first: Apple Mail displays the most recent email in a conversation at the top of the list. This means that the latest email in a thread is shown first, followed by the previous emails in the thread.
  2. Oldest first: If you prefer to see the oldest email in a conversation first, you can change the conversation order to "Oldest first". This will display the earliest email in a thread at the top of the list, followed by the subsequent emails in the thread.

To change the conversation order in Apple Mail:

  1. Open Apple Mail and go to Mail > Preferences (or use the keyboard shortcut Cmd +,).
  2. Click on the General tab.
  3. Under Conversation view, select either Newest first or Oldest first from the dropdown menu.

Alternatively, you can also change the conversation order by right-clicking (or control-clicking) on the conversation header and selecting Sort by > Newest first or Oldest first.

Note that you can also customize other conversation settings, such as the number of lines to display in the conversation summary, the font size, and more.
