Apple mail don't show attachments inline

A common issue!

If Apple Mail is not showing attachments inline, it's likely due to one of the following reasons:

  1. Settings issue: Check your Mail settings to ensure that "Show attachments inline" is enabled. To do this:
    • Open Apple Mail
    • Go to Mail > Preferences
    • Click on "General"
    • Make sure the checkbox next to "Show attachments inline" is selected
  2. Attachment size limit: If the attachment is too large, it might not be displayed inline. Try reducing the attachment size or sending a smaller file.
  3. Attachment type: Some attachment types, like PDFs or images, might not be displayed inline. Try converting the attachment to a different format or sending a different type of attachment.
  4. Mail account settings: Check your mail account settings to ensure that attachments are enabled. For example, if you're using IMAP, attachments might be disabled by default. To enable attachments:
    • Open Apple Mail
    • Go to Mail > Preferences
    • Click on "Accounts"
    • Select your account
    • Click on "Advanced"
    • Make sure the checkbox next to "Enable attachments" is selected
  5. Third-party plugin or extension: If you're using a third-party plugin or extension, it might be interfering with the attachment display. Try disabling any recently installed plugins or extensions to see if it resolves the issue.
  6. Mailbox organization: If you're using a mailbox organization system, like folders or labels, it might be causing the attachment to not display inline. Try moving the attachment to a different mailbox or folder to see if it resolves the issue.
  7. Mail client version: If you're using an older version of Apple Mail, it might not support inline attachments. Try updating to the latest version of Apple Mail.

If none of these solutions work, you can try resetting Apple Mail's preferences or seeking further assistance from Apple Support or a Mac expert.
