Apple mail load remote content automatically

By default, Apple Mail loads remote content automatically when you open an email message. This means that if an email message contains images, links, or other types of content that are hosted on the internet, Mail will automatically download and display them.

However, if you're concerned about security or want to conserve data usage, you can change this behavior to load remote content manually. Here's how:

Method 1: Disable automatic loading of remote content in Apple Mail

  1. Open Apple Mail on your Mac.
  2. Go to Mail > Preferences > Viewing.
  3. Uncheck the box next to "Load remote content in messages".
  4. Click "OK" to save the changes.

Method 2: Disable automatic loading of remote content for a specific email account

  1. Open Apple Mail on your Mac.
  2. Select the email account for which you want to disable automatic loading of remote content.
  3. Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts.
  4. Select the account and click on the "Advanced" tab.
  5. Uncheck the box next to "Load remote content in messages".
  6. Click "OK" to save the changes.

Method 3: Disable automatic loading of remote content for a specific email message

  1. Open Apple Mail on your Mac.
  2. Select the email message for which you want to disable automatic loading of remote content.
  3. Right-click (or control-click) on the message and select "Show Original".
  4. In the message source, look for the line that starts with "Content-Type: multipart/mixed" or "Content-Type: multipart/alternative".
  5. Delete the line or comment it out by adding a "#" symbol at the beginning of the line.
  6. Save the changes and close the message source window.

By disabling automatic loading of remote content, you'll need to manually load the content by clicking on the "Load Remote Content" button in the message header or by right-clicking (or control-clicking) on the message and selecting "Load Remote Content".
