Apple mail port settings

To set up Apple Mail to use a specific port for sending and receiving email, you can follow these steps:

For macOS High Sierra (10.13) and later:

  1. Open Apple Mail.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences".
  3. Click on the "Accounts" tab.
  4. Select the email account you want to configure from the list on the left.
  5. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
  6. Under "Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)", click on the "Edit" button next to "SMTP Server".
  7. In the "SMTP Server" window, click on the "Port" dropdown menu and select the desired port number (e.g. 587, 25, etc.).
  8. Click "OK" to save the changes.

For macOS Sierra (10.12) and earlier:

  1. Open Apple Mail.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences".
  3. Click on the "Accounts" tab.

  1. Open the Settings app.

  4. Tap on "SMTP".
  5. Tap on the "Server" dropdown menu and select the desired port number (e.g. 587, 25, etc.).
  6. Tap "Back" to save the changes.
