Apple mail receipt confirmation

When you send a receipt in Apple Mail, you can request a confirmation from the recipient to ensure they have received the receipt. Here's how to do it:

Sending a receipt with confirmation request

  1. Compose a new email in Apple Mail.
  2. Attach the receipt you want to send (e.g., an invoice, a payment confirmation, etc.).
  3. In the email body, type a brief message explaining the purpose of the receipt and any relevant details.
  4. Click on the "File" menu and select "Send Receipt" (or use the keyboard shortcut ⌘ + Shift + R).
  5. In the "Send Receipt" window, select the "Request Confirmation" checkbox.
  6. Choose the confirmation method: "Email" (recipient will receive a confirmation email) or "Notification" (recipient will receive a notification on their device).
  7. Click "Send" to send the receipt with the confirmation request.

Recipient's experience

When the recipient receives the email with the receipt, they will see a confirmation request at the bottom of the email. If they choose to confirm receipt, they will receive a separate email or notification (depending on the confirmation method you chose) with a confirmation message.

Confirmation options

As the sender, you can choose from two confirmation options:

  1. Email: The recipient will receive a separate email with a confirmation message, such as "You have confirmed receipt of the attached receipt."
  2. Notification: The recipient will receive a notification on their device (e.g., iPhone or Mac) with a confirmation message, such as "You have confirmed receipt of the attached receipt."

By requesting confirmation, you can ensure that the recipient has received the receipt and can verify the transaction or payment.
