Apple mail recent recipient list to contacts

A convenient feature!

To export the recent recipient list from Apple Mail to Contacts, follow these steps:

Method 1: Using the "Recent Recipients" feature

  1. Open Apple Mail on your Mac.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Recent Recipients" from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the "Recent Recipients" window, select all the recipients by pressing Command+A (⌘+A).
  4. Right-click (or Control-click) on the selected recipients and choose "Add to Contacts" from the context menu.
  5. In the "Contacts" window, you can choose to add the recipients to an existing group or create a new one.

Method 2: Using the "Export" feature

  1. Open Apple Mail on your Mac.
  2. Select all the messages in your inbox by pressing Command+A (⌘+A).
  3. Right-click (or Control-click) on the selected messages and choose "Export" from the context menu.
  4. In the "Export" window, select "Contacts" as the export format.
  5. Choose a location to save the exported contacts file (e.g., your desktop).
  6. Click "Export" to export the contacts.

Method 3: Using the "Smart Mailbox" feature

  1. Open Apple Mail on your Mac.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Smart Mailbox" from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the "Smart Mailbox" window, create a new smart mailbox by clicking on the "+" button.
  4. Name the smart mailbox (e.g., "Recent Recipients").
  5. In the "Search" field, enter from:all to include all recipients.
  6. Click "Save" to save the smart mailbox.
  7. Right-click (or Control-click) on the smart mailbox and choose "Add to Contacts" from the context menu.

In all cases, the recent recipient list will be exported to your Contacts app, where you can manage and organize the contacts as needed.
