Apple mail search date range

To search for emails in Apple Mail using a date range, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open Apple Mail on your Mac.
  2. Click on the "Mail" menu and select "Search" or use the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + F.
  3. In the search field, type in the criteria you want to search for, such as a sender's name, recipient's name, subject, or keywords.
  4. Click on the "Date" dropdown menu and select "Custom Date Range".
  5. Choose the start and end dates for your search by clicking on the calendar icons or typing in the dates in the format "YYYY-MM-DD".
  6. You can also use the "Before" and "After" options to search for emails that were sent before or after a specific date.
  7. Click on the "Search" button to run the search.

Alternatively, you can also use the "Smart Mailbox" feature in Apple Mail to create a custom search folder that searches for emails within a specific date range. To do this:

  1. Click on the "Mail" menu and select "Preferences".
  2. Click on the "Smart Mailboxes" tab.
  3. Click on the "+" button to create a new smart mailbox.
  4. Name the smart mailbox and set the criteria for the search, including the date range.
  5. Click on the "OK" button to save the smart mailbox.
  6. To view the emails that match the search criteria, click on the smart mailbox in the sidebar.

Note: The date range search is only available in Apple Mail on Mac, not on iOS devices.
