Apple mail signature default

To set a default signature in Apple Mail on a Mac:

  1. Open Apple Mail and go to Mail > Preferences.
  2. Click on the "Signatures" tab.
  3. Click on the "Manage" button next to "Signature".
  4. Click on the "New" button to create a new signature or select an existing one.
  5. Type in your signature text in the text box.
  6. You can also add formatting, images, and other elements to your signature using the toolbar above the text box.
  7. Click "OK" to save your changes.
  8. Click "OK" again to close the Preferences window.

To set a default signature for new messages:

  1. Go to Mail > Preferences.
  2. Click on the "Composing" tab.
  3. Select the signature you want to use as the default from the "Signature" dropdown menu.
  4. Click "OK" to close the Preferences window.

To set a default signature for replies and forwards:

  1. Go to Mail > Preferences.
  2. Click on the "Composing" tab.
  3. Select the signature you want to use as the default from the "Reply/Forward" dropdown menu.
  4. Click "OK" to close the Preferences window.

Note: You can also set a default signature for a specific account by going to the "Accounts" tab in Mail Preferences, selecting the account, and then clicking on the "Signature" dropdown menu.
