Apple mail spam settings
To set up spam settings in Apple Mail on your Mac or iOS device, follow these steps:
Mac:
- Open Apple Mail on your Mac.
- Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences."
- Click on the "Rules" tab.
- Click on the "+" button at the bottom left corner of the window to create a new rule.
- In the "If" section, select "From" and then "Contains" from the dropdown menus.
- In the "Contains" field, enter the email address or domain you want to block (e.g., [email protected]).
- Click on the "Then" section and select "Move Message" from the dropdown menu.
- Choose the folder you want to move the spam messages to (e.g., "Junk").
- Click "OK" to save the rule.
iOS:
- Open the Mail app on your iOS device.
- Tap on the "Mailboxes" tab.
- Tap on the "Edit" button in the top right corner.
- Tap on "Add Rule" at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap on "From" and then "Contains" from the dropdown menus.
- In the "Contains" field, enter the email address or domain you want to block (e.g., [email protected]).
- Tap on "Move Message" and choose the folder you want to move the spam messages to (e.g., "Junk").
- Tap "Save" to save the rule.
Additional Tips:
- You can also use the "Mark as Junk" feature in Apple Mail to help train the spam filter. To do this, select a message you think is spam, then click on "Mark" in the top menu bar and select "Mark as Junk."
- If you're using iCloud Mail, you can also use the "Spam" folder to mark messages as spam. To do this, select a message you think is spam, then click on "Move to" in the top menu bar and select "Spam."
- You can also use third-party spam filtering services, such as SpamSieve or SpamAssassin, to help filter out spam messages in Apple Mail.
