Apple mail view password

A common question!

To view the password for an email account in Apple Mail on a Mac, follow these steps:

  1. Open Apple Mail and select the email account for which you want to view the password.
  2. Click on "Mail" in the top menu bar and select "Preferences" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command + comma).
  3. In the Preferences window, click on the "Accounts" tab.
  4. Select the email account for which you want to view the password from the list of accounts on the left side of the window.
  5. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
  6. Look for the "Password" field and click on the "Show Password" button next to it.

Note: If you have enabled two-factor authentication (2FA) for your email account, you may need to enter the 2FA code or use an authenticator app to access your account.

Alternatively, you can also use the "Keychain Access" app on your Mac to view the password for your email account:

  1. Open Keychain Access (you can find it in the Applications/Utilities folder or use Spotlight to search for it).
  2. Click on "Keychains" in the top menu bar and select "System Keychain".
  3. Search for the email account for which you want to view the password in the search field at the top of the window.
  4. Select the email account from the search results and click on the "Show Password" button next to it.

Remember to be cautious when sharing your email account password, as it can compromise your account security.
