Apple os x 10.6 mail stored where

In OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard), the default location for storing email messages in the Mail app is:

~/Library/Mail

This is a hidden folder, so you may need to use the "Go" menu in the Finder and select "Go to Folder" to navigate to it. Alternatively, you can use the cd command in the Terminal to access the folder:

cd ~/Library/Mail

Inside the Mail folder, you'll find subfolders for each of your email accounts, such as IMAP or POP. Within these subfolders, you'll find the actual email messages, organized by date and folder.

Note that if you're using a third-party email client or service, such as Microsoft Exchange or Gmail, your email messages may be stored in a different location.
