Apply labels to old mail in gmail

To apply labels to old mail in Gmail, you can follow these steps:
Method 1: Using the Gmail search bar
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the search bar at the top of the page.
- Type in the search query:
is:unread
(oris:read
if you want to label all read emails). - Press Enter to execute the search.
- In the search results, select the checkbox next to the first email.
- Hold down the Shift key and select the last email in the search results.
- Right-click on the selected emails and choose "Apply label" from the context menu.
- Select the label you want to apply from the dropdown menu.
Method 2: Using the Gmail label feature
- Log in to your Gmail account.
- Click on the "Labels" tab on the left-hand side of the page.
- Click on the "New label" button.
- Enter the name of the label you want to create.
- Click on the "Create" button.
- Go to the "Inbox" or the folder containing the old mail you want to label.
- Select the checkbox next to the first email.
- Hold down the Shift key and select the last email in the folder.
- Right-click on the selected emails and choose "Apply label" from the context menu.
- Select the label you just created from the dropdown menu.
