Are sent mails imported by gmail
When you send an email from your Gmail account, it is not directly imported into Gmail. Instead, the email is sent to the recipient's email server, which then delivers it to their inbox.
Here's what happens behind the scenes:
- When you compose an email in Gmail, it is sent to the Gmail servers.
- The Gmail servers then forward the email to the recipient's email server, using the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP).
- The recipient's email server receives the email and stores it in their mailbox.
- The recipient's email client (e.g., Outlook, Apple Mail, or their email app) connects to their email server and retrieves the email from their mailbox.
- The email is then displayed in the recipient's inbox.
Gmail does not import emails that are sent from your account. Instead, it acts as a sending agent, forwarding the email to the recipient's email server. This is because Gmail is designed to be a sending platform, not a receiving platform.
However, there are some exceptions:
- If you use Gmail's "Send and Archive" feature, the email is not only sent to the recipient but also archived in your Gmail account.
- If you use Gmail's "Send and Delete" feature, the email is sent to the recipient and then deleted from your Gmail account.
- If you use Gmail's "Send and Forward" feature, the email is sent to the recipient and then forwarded to another email address.
In summary, Gmail does not import emails that are sent from your account. Instead, it acts as a sending agent, forwarding the email to the recipient's email server.
