Are they still sending out stimulus checks in the mail

The United States government has stopped sending out stimulus checks, also known as Economic Impact Payments (EIPs), as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and the American Rescue Plan Act.

The CARES Act provided for one-time stimulus checks of up to $1,200 per individual and $2,400 per married couple, with an additional $500 per child under the age of 17. The checks were sent out in the spring and summer of 2020.

The American Rescue Plan Act, which was signed into law in March 2021, provided for a second round of stimulus checks, known as the Recovery Rebate Credit. This credit was available to eligible individuals who did not receive the full amount of the stimulus check or who did not receive a check at all. The credit was claimed on tax returns filed in 2021.

As of now, the IRS has stopped sending out stimulus checks, and the Recovery Rebate Credit is no longer available. If you are eligible for the credit, you can claim it on your 2021 tax return, which is due on April 15, 2022.

It's worth noting that the IRS has also stopped sending out stimulus checks to individuals who are eligible for the Child Tax Credit, which is a separate program that provides financial assistance to families with children.
