A convenient way to forward mail in Australia!
The Australian Postal Corporation (Australia Post) offers a service called "Redirect Mail" that allows you to forward your mail to a new address. Here's how it works:
Eligibility:
- You must be the registered owner of the mail forwarding address.
- The mail forwarding address must be a residential or business address in Australia.
- You must provide a valid forwarding address in Australia.
How to apply:
- Online application: Visit the Australia Post website (www.auspost.com.au) and follow these steps:
- Log in to your Australia Post account or create a new one if you don't have one.
- Click on "Services" and then "Redirect Mail".
- Fill in the online application form with your current and new addresses, as well as your contact details.
- Pay the applicable fee (see below).
- In-person application: Visit your local post office and ask to apply for the Redirect Mail service. The post office staff will guide you through the application process.
Fees:
- The fee for Redirect Mail is currently $55.50 for a 12-month period.
- You can also opt for a shorter period of 6 months ($27.75) or 3 months ($13.88).
What's included:
- Australia Post will forward your mail to your new address for the specified period.
- The service covers most types of mail, including letters, parcels, and packages.
- You can choose to have your mail forwarded to a residential or business address.
Important notes:
- You must notify Australia Post of any changes to your forwarding address.
- The Redirect Mail service does not cover international mail or mail sent to PO boxes.
- You can cancel the service at any time, but you'll need to provide written notice to Australia Post.
