The convenience of having the US Postal Service (USPS) hold your mail!
Here's how to request mail hold service from the USPS:
Online:
- Go to the USPS website (www.usps.com).
- Click on "Hold Mail" under the "Mail & Shipping" tab.
- Enter your name, address, and the dates you'd like to hold your mail (up to 30 days).
- Review and confirm your request.
By Phone:
- Call the USPS Customer Service number at 1-800-275-8777.
- Provide your name, address, and the dates you'd like to hold your mail.
- Follow the prompts to confirm your request.
In Person:
- Visit your local post office.
- Inform the postal clerk that you'd like to request mail hold service.
- Provide your name, address, and the dates you'd like to hold your mail.
- The clerk will assist you with the request.
What to Expect:
- The USPS will hold your mail at the post office for the specified dates.
- You can pick up your held mail at the post office during business hours.
- If you're unable to pick up your mail, you can have it forwarded to another address or have it returned to sender.
Fees:
- There is no fee for holding mail for up to 30 days.
- If you need to hold your mail for more than 30 days, you'll need to pay a fee (currently $1.00 per day).
Remember to request mail hold service at least 3 business days before your mail is scheduled to be delivered. This will ensure that your mail is held and ready for pickup when you need it.
