Avast mail shield security exclusion
Avast Mail Shield is a feature in Avast Antivirus that scans your email for malware and other threats. However, sometimes you may need to exclude certain emails or domains from being scanned by Avast Mail Shield. Here's how to do it:
Method 1: Excluding specific emails or domains
- Open Avast Antivirus and go to the "Protection" tab.
- Click on "Mail Shield" and then click on "Settings".
- In the "Mail Shield Settings" window, click on the "Exclusions" tab.
- Click on "Add" and enter the email address or domain you want to exclude.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
Method 2: Excluding entire email accounts
- Open Avast Antivirus and go to the "Protection" tab.
- Click on "Mail Shield" and then click on "Settings".
- In the "Mail Shield Settings" window, click on the "Accounts" tab.
- Select the email account you want to exclude from scanning.
- Uncheck the box next to "Scan this account" to exclude it from scanning.
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
Method 3: Excluding specific email attachments
- Open Avast Antivirus and go to the "Protection" tab.
- Click on "Mail Shield" and then click on "Settings".
- In the "Mail Shield Settings" window, click on the "Attachments" tab.
- Click on "Add" and enter the file type or extension you want to exclude (e.g..zip,.rar, etc.).
- Click "OK" to save the changes.
Important notes:
- Excluding emails or domains from Avast Mail Shield does not guarantee that they are safe or malware-free. It's still important to be cautious when opening emails or attachments from unknown sources.
- If you're unsure about excluding a specific email or domain, you can contact Avast support for assistance.
- Exclusions can be removed at any time by following the same steps above and selecting the "Remove" option.
