Avast sending all emails to junk mail

Frustrating!

Avast's email client, Avast Email, is designed to help protect you from spam and phishing emails. However, sometimes it may incorrectly flag legitimate emails as junk mail. Here are some steps to help you resolve the issue:

  1. Check your email settings: Ensure that your email account settings are correct in Avast Email. Go to Settings > Accounts > [Your Email Account] and verify that your email address, password, and server settings are correct.
  2. Whitelist trusted senders: Add the senders of legitimate emails you want to receive to your whitelist. Go to Settings > Spam & Virus > Whitelist and add the sender's email address or domain.
  3. Mark legitimate emails as not junk: If an email is incorrectly flagged as junk, mark it as "Not Junk" to help Avast learn and improve its filtering. Right-click on the email, select "Mark as Not Junk," and then confirm.
  4. Adjust the spam filter settings: You can adjust the spam filter settings to be more lenient or strict. Go to Settings > Spam & Virus > Spam Filter and adjust the settings to your liking.
  5. Check for updates: Ensure that Avast Email is up to date. Go to Settings > About Avast Email and check for any available updates.
  6. Try a different email client: If you're still experiencing issues, try using a different email client, such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, to see if the problem persists.
  7. Contact Avast support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can contact Avast support for further assistance. They may be able to help you troubleshoot the problem or provide additional guidance.

Remember that Avast's email client is designed to protect you from spam and phishing emails, so it's possible that some legitimate emails may be incorrectly flagged as junk. By following these steps, you can help improve the accuracy of Avast's email filtering and reduce the number of legitimate emails that are incorrectly flagged as junk.
