Avast won't let me print from microsoft mail
Frustrating!
Avast is a popular antivirus software, and sometimes it can interfere with certain system functions, including printing. Here are a few potential solutions to help you print from Microsoft Mail (Outlook) while using Avast:
- Exclude Outlook from Avast's Real-Time Shield: Avast's Real-Time Shield scans all files and programs for malware. You can exclude Outlook from this scan to prevent interference with printing. To do this:
- Open Avast and go to Settings (or Preferences, depending on your OS).
- Click on "Components" or "Modules" and then select "Real-Time Shield".
- Click on "Exclude" and add the path to your Outlook executable (usually
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\OUTLOOK.EXE
on Windows 10). - Save your changes.
- Disable Avast's Web Shield: Avast's Web Shield can also interfere with printing. Try disabling it:
- Open Avast and go to Settings (or Preferences, depending on your OS).
- Click on "Components" or "Modules" and then select "Web Shield".
- Toggle the switch to disable the Web Shield.
- Save your changes.
- Update Avast to the latest version: Sometimes, updating Avast to the latest version can resolve issues like this. Make sure you're running the latest version of Avast.
- Try printing in a different browser: If you're using a browser like Chrome or Firefox to access Microsoft Mail, try printing from a different browser to see if the issue persists.
- Disable Avast's Print Shield: Avast's Print Shield is a feature that scans printed documents for malware. You can disable it:
- Open Avast and go to Settings (or Preferences, depending on your OS).
- Click on "Components" or "Modules" and then select "Print Shield".
- Toggle the switch to disable the Print Shield.
- Save your changes.
- Reset Avast's settings: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting Avast's settings to their default values:
- Open Avast and go to Settings (or Preferences, depending on your OS).
- Click on "Reset" or "Restore Defaults".
- Confirm that you want to reset Avast's settings.
If none of these solutions work, you may want to consider reaching out to Avast's support team for further assistance.
