Backup whatsapp to gmail
WhatsApp allows you to backup your conversations and media to Google Drive, which is integrated with your Gmail account. Here's how to do it:
Method 1: Backup WhatsApp to Google Drive using the WhatsApp app
- Open WhatsApp on your Android or iOS device.
- Go to Settings > Chats > Chat backup.
- Tap on "Back up to Google Drive" and select the backup frequency you prefer (daily, weekly, or monthly).
- Enter your Google account credentials to link your WhatsApp account to Google Drive.
- Choose the backup size you want (1 GB, 2 GB, or 5 GB).
- Tap "Back up" to start the backup process.
Method 2: Backup WhatsApp to Google Drive using Google Drive
- Open Google Drive on your Android or iOS device.
- Tap on the three horizontal lines (menu icon) and select "Settings".
- Scroll down and tap on "Backup & reset".
- Toggle on "Backup my data" and select "WhatsApp" from the list of apps.
- Choose the backup frequency you prefer (daily, weekly, or monthly).
- Enter your Google account credentials to link your WhatsApp account to Google Drive.
- Tap "Save" to start the backup process.
Restoring WhatsApp backup from Google Drive
- Open WhatsApp on your Android or iOS device.
- Go to Settings > Chats > Chat backup.
- Tap on "Restore" and select the backup you want to restore from Google Drive.
- Follow the prompts to complete the restore process.
Note: Make sure you have enough storage space on your Google Drive account to store your WhatsApp backup. You can check your storage space by going to Google Drive > Settings > Storage.
Also, keep in mind that WhatsApp backups are stored in a proprietary format, so you won't be able to access them directly from Google Drive. However, you can use third-party apps or services to extract specific messages or media from your WhatsApp backup.
