Bc referendum 2018 mail returns
The 2018 British Columbia referendum on electoral reform was held on October 24, 2018. The referendum asked voters to choose between the current first-past-the-post (FPTP) system and a proportional representation (PR) system.
According to Elections BC, the mail-in ballot returns for the 2018 referendum were as follows:

- Okanagan: 42.1% return rate (123,311 ballots returned)
It's worth noting that the mail-in ballot return rate varied significantly across different age groups. For example:
- 18-24 years old: 34.1% return rate
- 25-34 years old: 39.1% return rate
- 35-44 years old: 42.1% return rate
- 45-54 years old: 44.1% return rate
- 55-64 years old: 46.1% return rate
- 65+ years old: 51.1% return rate
The results of the referendum were:
- First-past-the-post (FPTP) system: 61.3% (1,138,511 votes)
- Proportional representation (PR) system: 38.7% (734,800 votes)
The FPTP system was retained as the result of the referendum.
