Bigpond outgoing mail
BigPond was a popular internet service provider in Australia, but it's no longer available as a standalone service. However, I can provide some general information on outgoing mail settings for BigPond email accounts.
Outgoing Mail Settings for BigPond Email Accounts:
Before we dive into the settings, please note that BigPond email accounts are now managed by Telstra, and the settings may have changed since the service was discontinued.
SMTP Server:
- Server: mail.telstra.com
- Port: 587 (TLS) or 25 (unencrypted)
Username and Password:
- Use your BigPond email address as the username.
- Use your BigPond email password.
Authentication:
- Authentication is required. You can use either Plain Text or CRAM-MD5 authentication.
Additional Settings:
- If you're using a third-party email client, you may need to configure the outgoing mail server to use the Telstra SMTP server.
- If you're experiencing issues with sending emails, try checking your email account settings, password, or contact Telstra's customer support for assistance.
Important Note:
As BigPond is no longer a standalone service, you may need to update your email account settings or contact Telstra's customer support to ensure you can continue sending and receiving emails.
