Bits and bytes wvu email

A blast from the past!

"bits and bytes" was a popular email address format used by students at West Virginia University (WVU) in the 1990s and early 2000s. The format consisted of a username followed by "@wvu.edu", where the username was a combination of the student's initials and a unique identifier.

Here's an example of what a "bits and bytes" email address might look like:

The "b" at the end of the username was a distinguishing feature of the "bits and bytes" format. It was a nod to the university's strong computer science and engineering programs, and it helped to differentiate WVU email addresses from those of other universities.

The "bits and bytes" format was phased out in the mid-2000s as WVU transitioned to a more modern email system. Today, WVU students and faculty use standard email addresses with their own unique usernames and the "@wvu.edu" domain.
