Block email sender on gmail

To block an email sender on Gmail, you can follow these steps:

Method 1: Block sender using the "Block" button

  1. Open your Gmail inbox and find the email from the sender you want to block.
  2. Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the email.
  3. Select "Block [sender's email address]" from the dropdown menu.
  4. Confirm that you want to block the sender by clicking "Block" in the pop-up window.

Method 2: Block sender using the "Report spam" button

  1. Open your Gmail inbox and find the email from the sender you want to block.
  2. Click on the three vertical dots at the top right corner of the email.
  3. Select "Report spam" from the dropdown menu.
  4. Confirm that you want to report the email as spam by clicking "Report spam" in the pop-up window.
  5. Gmail will automatically block the sender's email address.

Method 3: Block sender using the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" settings

  1. Log in to your Gmail account and click on the gear icon at the top right corner.
  2. Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab.
  4. Click on the "Create a new filter" button.
  5. Enter the sender's email address in the "From" field.
  6. Select "Block" as the action.
  7. Click "Create" to save the filter.

Once you've blocked a sender, Gmail will automatically move any future emails from that sender to your Spam folder. You can also report the email as spam if you want to help Gmail's algorithms improve their spam detection.

Note: Blocking a sender will not delete any existing emails from that sender in your inbox.
