To set up your Blueyonder email account in Outlook, follow these steps:

Step 1: Create an App Password

Before setting up your Blueyonder email account in Outlook, you need to create an App Password. This is a one-time process.

  1. Log in to your Blueyonder account.
  2. Click on "My Account" and then "Security" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on "App passwords" and then "Generate a new app password".
  4. Enter a name for the app password (e.g., "Outlook") and click "Generate".
  5. Note down the app password, as you won't be able to retrieve it later.

Step 2: Set up your Blueyonder email account in Outlook

  1. Open Outlook and click on "File" > "Add Account".
  2. Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next".
  3. Select "POP or IMAP" and click "Next".
  4. Enter the following settings:
    • Your Name: Enter your name as you want it to appear in the "From" field.
    • Email Address: Enter your Blueyonder email address (e.g., [yourname]@blueyonder.co.uk).
    • Account Type: Select "POP3" or "IMAP" (IMAP is recommended).
    • Incoming mail server: Enter "mail.blueyonder.co.uk".
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Enter "smtp.blueyonder.co.uk".
    • Port: Leave the default ports (110 for POP3 or 143 for IMAP) or enter the recommended ports (995 for POP3 or 993 for IMAP).
  5. Enter your Blueyonder email address and App Password in the respective fields.
  6. Click "Next" and then "Finish" to complete the setup.

Step 3: Configure Outlook to use SSL/TLS

  1. In Outlook, go to "File" > "Account Settings" > "Account Settings" again.
  2. Select your Blueyonder email account and click "Change".
  3. Under "More Settings", click on the "Advanced" tab.
  4. Select "SSL" or "TLS" for the "Use the following type of encrypted connection" option.
  5. Click "OK" to save the changes.
