Bt email settings for windows mail
Here are the BT email settings for Windows Mail:
Incoming Mail Server:
- Server name: imap.bt.com
- Port: 993
- Encryption: SSL/TLS
- Authentication: Password
Outgoing Mail Server:
- Server name: smtp.bt.com
- Port: 587
- Encryption: STARTTLS
- Authentication: Password
Username and Password:
- Your BT email address (e.g. [yourname]@btinternet.com)
- Your BT email password
Additional Settings:
- Leave a copy of messages on the server: Yes
- Remove messages from server: No
- Check for new messages every: [choose a time interval]
To set up your BT email account in Windows Mail, follow these steps:
- Open Windows Mail and click on "Accounts" in the top menu bar.
- Click on "Add" and then select "Email".
- Enter your name and email address, and then click "Next".
- Select "Manual setup or additional server types" and click "Next".
- Select "Internet Email" and click "Next".
- Enter the incoming and outgoing mail server settings as above.
- Enter your username and password, and then click "Next".
- Review the settings and click "Finish" to complete the setup.
