Can a sender delete email sent at hot mail

The eternal question!

In general, once an email is sent, it's out of the sender's control and can't be deleted from the recipient's inbox. However, there are some exceptions and workarounds:

Hotmail (now Outlook.com):

  1. Unsent emails: If you haven't sent the email yet, you can still delete it from your Outbox or Drafts folder.
  2. Recall emails: Outlook.com allows you to recall an email if it's still in the recipient's inbox. To do this, go to the "Recall This Message" option in the "Actions" menu. Note that this feature only works if the recipient has not yet opened the email.
  3. Delete from Sent Items: You can delete an email from your Sent Items folder, but this will only remove it from your own account. The recipient will still have a copy of the email in their inbox.

Other email providers:

  1. Gmail: Gmail has a "Undo Send" feature that allows you to retract an email within a short period (usually 5-30 seconds) after sending it. To use this feature, go to the "Undo Send" option in the "More" menu.
  2. Yahoo Mail: Yahoo Mail allows you to recall an email if it's still in the recipient's inbox. To do this, go to the "Recall This Message" option in the "Actions" menu.
  3. Other providers: Some email providers, like ProtonMail, offer a "Delete" or "Recall" feature for sent emails. However, this feature may not be available on all providers or accounts.

Important notes:

In summary, while it's generally not possible to delete an email once it's been sent, some email providers offer features that allow you to recall or delete sent emails under certain circumstances.
