Can i directly recive mail in a folder in gmail
Unfortunately, Gmail does not allow you to receive emails directly in a specific folder. When you receive an email, it is automatically sorted into your inbox by default. However, there are a few workarounds to achieve similar functionality:
- Filters: You can set up filters in Gmail to automatically forward or move emails from specific senders or with specific subjects to a specific folder. To do this:
- Go to the Gmail settings (gear icon) > Filters and Blocked Addresses.
- Click "Create a new filter".
- Enter the criteria you want to use to filter emails (e.g., sender, subject, keywords).
- Choose the action you want to take (e.g., "Apply the label" and select the folder you want to move the emails to).
- Labels: You can use labels to categorize emails and then use the "Move to" feature to move emails to a specific folder. To do this:
- Go to the Gmail settings (gear icon) > Labels.
- Create a new label for the folder you want to receive emails in.
- Use the "Move to" feature to move emails to the labeled folder.
- Third-party add-ons: There are several third-party add-ons available that can help you receive emails directly in a specific folder. Some popular options include:
- Sanebox: A paid add-on that uses machine learning to automatically sort and prioritize your emails.
- Boomerang: A paid add-on that allows you to schedule emails to be sent or received at a later time, as well as set up filters to move emails to specific folders.
- SaneBlackHole: A free add-on that allows you to set up filters to automatically move emails to a specific folder.
Keep in mind that these workarounds may not be as seamless as receiving emails directly in a specific folder, but they can help you achieve similar functionality.
