Can i still access a freeserve email account
Freeserve was a UK-based internet service provider (ISP) that was acquired by Wanadoo in 2004, and later by Orange in 2006. As a result, Freeserve email accounts are no longer actively supported or managed by Orange.
However, it's still possible to access your Freeserve email account, but with some limitations:
- Email forwarding: You can still forward your Freeserve email to another email address, such as Gmail, Outlook, or Yahoo. To do this, you'll need to set up email forwarding through your Freeserve account settings.
- POP3/IMAP access: You can still access your Freeserve email account using POP3 or IMAP protocols, but you'll need to configure your email client (e.g., Outlook, Thunderbird) to connect to the Freeserve servers. The POP3 and IMAP settings are:
- POP3: pop.freeserve.co.uk (port 110)
- IMAP: imap.freeserve.co.uk (port 143)
- Webmail access: You can still access your Freeserve email account through the webmail interface at www.freeserve.co.uk/webmail. However, be aware that the webmail interface may not be fully functional or up-to-date.
Please note that:
- Freeserve email accounts are no longer actively monitored or supported by Orange.
- You may not be able to send or receive emails with attachments larger than 10MB.
- Some features, such as spam filtering or virus scanning, may not be available.
- You may experience issues with email delivery or reliability.
If you're looking for a more reliable and feature-rich email service, you may want to consider migrating your email account to a different provider, such as Gmail, Outlook, or Yahoo.
