Can microsoft word 2016 mail merge record read vcf files

According to Microsoft's documentation, Microsoft Word 2016 does support importing contacts from VCF (vCard) files using the Mail Merge feature.

To do this, you'll need to follow these steps:

  1. Open your Microsoft Word 2016 document and go to the "Mailings" tab in the ribbon.
  2. Click on "Select Recipients" and then choose "Use an existing list" or "Use an existing list or query".
  3. In the "Select Recipients" dialog box, click on "Other List" and then select "Text File" as the file type.
  4. Browse to the location of your VCF file and select it.
  5. Click "Open" to import the contacts from the VCF file.
  6. In the "Mail Merge" dialog box, select the fields you want to merge from the VCF file, such as "First Name", "Last Name", "Email Address", etc.

Once you've imported the contacts from the VCF file, you can use the Mail Merge feature to create a document with the merged data.

Note that the VCF file should be in a format that is compatible with Microsoft Word 2016, such as vCard 3.0 or vCard 4.0. If your VCF file is in a different format, you may need to convert it to a compatible format before importing it into Microsoft Word.

It's also worth noting that the Mail Merge feature in Microsoft Word 2016 has some limitations when it comes to importing contacts from VCF files. For example, you may not be able to import all of the fields from the VCF file, or you may need to use workarounds to get the data to merge correctly.
